All SkyLit outdoor events are monitored closely for weather conditions leading up to event day. While weather is always a factor, decisions are not based simply on whether rain is in the forecast.
Our decisions are guided by one priority: safety.
When evaluating whether an event can proceed, we focus on three key questions:
Is it safe for attendees?
We assess whether weather conditions could create unsafe environments for guests, including ground conditions, visibility concerns, or other environmental risks.
Can artists safely perform?
Outdoor conditions must allow artists to perform safely without exposure to hazardous weather or unsafe technical conditions.
Is the crew’s safety at risk?
Our production teams work with staging, electrical systems, and technical equipment. If weather conditions create unsafe working conditions, we will not proceed.
If safety concerns exist in any of these areas, the event may be delayed or cancelled. If conditions remain safe, the event will proceed as planned.
When decisions are made
Because outdoor events require significant advance setup and crew coordination, weather decisions are typically made 8–12 hours before event start time. This allows us to protect our crew, artists, and equipment while also providing clear communication to performers, vendors, and guests.
In rare cases involving sudden or severe weather developments, last-minute decisions may be necessary. These situations will be evaluated based on real-time conditions and safety considerations. While we strive to avoid last-minute changes, safety conditions can evolve rapidly and may require immediate decisions.
Our approach
We are committed to delivering the events we plan and do not cancel events lightly. However, the "show must go on" mentality does not apply when safety is involved. If there is any concern about the safety of our attendees, artists, or crew, safety will always take priority.
Communication
If an event must be delayed or cancelled, updates will be shared through SkyLit’s official communication channels as soon as a decision is made. Guests are encouraged to check event pages and social media for the most current updates when weather conditions are uncertain.
